HOW TO STRUCTURE A SENTENCE IN VIETNAMESE
The Vietnamese language is characterized by monosyllables.
For example:
- đẹp ( beautiful)
- xấu ( ugly)
- cao ( tall)
- thấp ( short)…
- đi ( go)
- ăn ( eat)
This means a word is made up of one syllable. The case of words with two or more syllables still exists, but they are words that combine many syllables together.
For example:
- xinh xắn ( pretty, nice)
- xanh xao ( pale)
-nhớ nhung ( nostalgic, mising )
- trăn trở ( worrying and thinking in the same time)
- êm đềm ( peaceful, serene)
When communicating, to express what you want to say, a sentence unit will be formed by combining words together. And to speak Vietnamese fluently, it is certain that you are proficient in using many words, speaking in meaningful sentences so that the listener can understand what you want to say, then you have succeeded in learning Vietnamese.
For example, (in familiar language) some simple sentences made up of the word “Đi” = “go” are as follows:
- Đi nào! ( = Let’s go! ) when the speaker and the listener do the same act.
- Đi nhé! ( I go ) The speaker saying so before leaving.
- Đi đi ( Just go ): The speaker asking the listener to go, but the speaker does not go with.
And so, learning Vietnamese to be able to communicate in Vietnamese is not difficult at all, if not to say that, learning Vietnamese is very easy because you do not have to worry too much about grammar, Vietnamese does not divide words by gender, but simply combines with a word that has the meaning of gender.
For example:
- Bò cái ( cow )
- Bò đực ( bull )
Vietnamese also does not need to conjugate verbs, just use the appropriate personal pronoun before a completely invariant verb, and you have a complete sentence.
For example:
- Tôi thích ăn bún chả. ( I like eating bún chả )
Vietnamese also only distinguishes between the past, present and future tenses by using words that have a time meaning.
For example:
-Bà ấy đã đi rồi. ( She has gone)
-Bà ấy sẽ đi vào thứ bảy tuần tới. ( She will go on Saturday next week)
-Hôm nay bà ấy đi. ( Today she goes )
